Our Founder's Story

I grew up in small-town Nebraska.  At the age of nine, my love for collecting sports cards began.  One day I joined my mom on a trip to our local Gibson's discount store.  Sitting atop the checkout counter, I noticed a small box colored in red, white, and blue.  It was full of unopened packs of basketball cards.  The packs were 40 cents apiece.  Mom sensed my interest and bought two packs for me.  In one of those packs was a Michael Jordan Rookie card.  Thanks, mom.

 

After high school, I joined the United States Navy and spent half of my eight years of service in Southeast Asia.  It was in the countries of Japan and Thailand where my affinity for antiques and collectibles began.  I spent many weekends in Japan visiting antique shops searching for unique pieces to send back home.

 

After serving in the United States Navy, my wife and I relocated to Minnesota in 2003.  Over the years, I have attended hundreds of estate sales in Minnesota.  These experiences have given me a tremendous amount of respect for those hosting estate sales.  I realized it takes a great deal of compassion, integrity, and hard work to succeed in this business.
